Yellow Gold Watch Russian Chain. Created around 1900 Stamped 56 for Gold Hallmark and Cyliric F for the jeweller name. Russian Gold Watch Chain has a complete package for a gentlemen’s suit and vest wearing a pocket watch, including a hinge for the key. The art of wearing this item is long gone, but at least we still have the historical evidence. The box is massive and has all the support to accommodate the intricate parts of the chain and a place for a pocket watch. On the cover, a Latin motto is inscribed in gold: Post Lux Tenebras. Translated as Light After Darkness. Incorporated with Eagle it is a coat of arms of Geneva Swiss, American International College (Springfield, Massachusetts).
