About the Item

NAMED ONE OF WATCHPRO MAGAZINE’S “HOT 100” - THE TOP 100 INFLUENCERS OF THE U.S. WATCH INDUSTRY. HOW CAN WE SERVE YOU? 1971 OMEGA DYNAMIC Vintage Mens Large Cal. 1481 Watch with Racing Dial - Stainless Steel Gorgeous Restored Condition - Interesting & Distinctive Created in 1967 by Omega's sales director Robert Forster, the Dynamic is a wonderful example of a true retro style. The clean and functional watch, a considerable success for Omega, possessed a number of designed elements that made it stand out: An ellipse shape with recessed crown determined to be the best geometric shape for the wrist, determined after extensive study Easy to read dial with "time zone" sections. The dial on this example is done in a racing style design with 1/5 second markings for precision timing for racing, aviation, or other professional uses. Unicoc case with hermetically sealed crystal water-resistant to a depth of 30m. Available with a stainless steel bracelet or easily interchangeable water-resistant Cor-fam straps According to an Omega advertisement at the time, "The shape of the Omega Dynamic was determined by the anatomy of your wrist; its dial by the workings of your eyes; it strap by the physiology of your skin." We are pleased to offer this Mk II Dynamic. The second generation of the watch lasted from 1970 until 1972. Powering this less common version of the watch is its original Omega caliber 1481 movement with quick-setting date. It has all of its original Omega parts and has just finished a true expertly done restoration. Its condition presents as about a 9.7 out of 10. Its steel case presents as mint. Unlike most where the markings on the back have lightened, its original markings are strongly intact. On the wrist it presents as gorgeous mint. Its original Omega dial has been meticulously custom refinished with a matte black and yellow motif - its printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye. And its fine Omega automatic movement has just been overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. After more than half a century, it continues to run very strong and true, keeping very accurate time in our testing recording position. For the finishing touch, it comes equipped with a new aftermarket leather strap with aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment. A more than half-century old Dynamic that presents like new on the wrist! Please note: An example of this watch resides in the Omega museum, and a published example can be found in Marco Richon's work Omega: A Journey Through Time, 2007, pg. 483.
