What I like most is its combination of elements: classic Seamaster proportions, a strong black dial, a substantial original bracelet, and one of Omega’s more sophisticated automatic calendar movements of the era. It feels unmistakably vintage, but not delicate or overly dressy, which makes it especially easy to imagine as an everyday Omega today. As a Seamaster, it's a watch that has both elegance and sporting capabilities. It captures a particularly interesting moment in Omega’s 1970s design language. The case still has the clean proportions of a traditional round Seamaster, but the squared shoulders, broad lugs, and original steel bracelet give it a slightly more assertive, modern character. Its original "Far East" market bracelet itself is a big part of the look, with its intricate multi-link construction adding texture and giving the watch more wrist presence than its 35mm case diameter might suggest. Here are some of its features: * Pioneering so-called "double quick-set" day and date features - This is an early double quick-setting day date Omega watch. Omega created the 1020 and 1022 series movement with a double quick-set capability for convenient setting of the day and date. Though many connoisseurs associate the idea of the double quick-set watch with Rolex, which first offered the President model with this "new" feature in late 1990, Omega's 1020 series mechanisms were a pioneer of the technology in large scale production watches. * Gloss black dial - The black dial works especially well with the case and bracelet because it sharpens the entire design. It gives the watch a purposeful, slightly sportier character without losing the polish expected of a Seamaster. * Caliber 1022 movement - Fast beat (28,800 bph) balance system for greater accuracy and the higher jeweled version caliber - it has 23 jewels instead of 17 * Seamaster model for the U.S. market - Quite of few examples of this model, which was created by the Norman Morris Agency is New York, that were in solid gold were branded and sold through Tiffany & Co. * "Far East" Omega bracelet - The distinctively styled original Omega bracelet was only made for "Far East" market watches. It has all of its original parts and has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It presents in gorgeous restored condition - a 9.7 out of 10. Its case presents as mint with only light signs of previous polishing. Its original Omega dial has been meticulously restored - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye. As part of the restoration, its movement has been overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. It is running very strong and true, keeping time essentially on par with a new Omega. For the finishing touch, we have meticulously detailed making it ready for immediate enjoyment. A half century old Omega that looks like new on the wrist!
