About the Item
An incredible Retro period ladies manual wind cocktail watch crafted from 14 karat rose gold, diamonds and rubies. The trapezoid watch face has a ruby and diamond set 'hinged' cover which when pressed down to one side lifts to reveal the watch face. The face of the watch is signed 'CHALET' and is marked inside the rear of the case for the Champ Swiss watch company (17 jewel movement). The 13 diamonds in this cocktail piece are a mixture of single cut and brilliant cut diamonds which are all of H/I colour and SI-P2 clarity totalling 0.65 carat. The 9 rubies total 1.35 carat and are 'bright mid pinkish red, moderately included'. Whilst the movement of the watch is currently not working, the piece is more likely to be worn for the purpose of being a decorative bracelet than a watch. However it is likely the piece could be serviced to regain the use of the watchface to keep the time. An extremely fine example of a ladies Retro period cocktail watch which is one of the finest we have seen to date.
