A very attractive French gilt bronze and ceramic mantel clock, profusely decorated with floral swags, flowers, ribbons, birds and masks and surmounted by a ceramic and bronze baroque style urn swathed in fruit and flowers. The original gilding in in extremely good condition with only very minor wear commensurate with age.

This vase was designed by Mildred B Smallfield (1862-?) who was listed as a senior assistant at Doulton in 1882. It is decorated with a pattern of enamelled stylized flowers in blue, green and white, and enhanced with gilding on an ivory coloured ground. Her assistant was Minnie Neal.
