Four Storey Victorian Town House
The clients wanted to re-design and decorate this large four story traditional Victorian London home, for a family with three daughters in their teens and early twenties. They wanted to be able to host dinners, bridge and cocktail evenings as well as having space to relax, watch movies and entertain impromptu gatherings of young people.
The building had been converted into a series of bedsits in the early twentieth century and needed to be entirely re-modelled and re-created into a single family home. The style is contemporary/classical, incorporating modern facilities and conveniences within a framework of original architectural features and salvaged materials. The clients have a collection of contemporary art and a love of old timber, so they wanted us to combine these various elements to conjure a unique, interesting and comfortable space, by juxtaposing these various elements.
