Holiday House Soho 2016

Mixed Use by Harry Heissmann Inc. in New York, NY

The Holiday House Soho was a very special project and by far the most emotional room we ever created.

We had decided on a black and white theme, working on a 'Christmas Bedroom' to evoke all the wonder one might feel on Christmas morning, but not taking it too literal. Amazed at how all the different whites and blacks worked together - and yes there was dark brown and navy etc. as well we developed the scheme. Scalamandre flocked wallpaper and ceiling wallpaper, Stark carpet. The vintage Tommi Parzinger bed from Lobel with E.Braun sheets and bedding was placed in front of a custom screen made from Pierre Frey fabric and mirror, flanked by vintage architectural elements from Victoria & Son. The bedside tables are by Jacques Jarrige from VG Gallery, lamps are by Christopher Spitzmiller, we punched a line of stars at the bottom of the paper shades and topped them with rock crystal finials from Liz O'Brien... The antique German carousel zebra came from Yew Tree House Antiques, mirror and chair from R & Company.

I had dedicated the room to my friend, photographer Karin Kohlberg, as she had breast cancer and had told her about it. She did not live to the opening and i'm still getting teary seeing her photo on the table...
