Island Living: an Ile St. Louis flat

Family Home by Studio Dykas in Paris 04 Hôtel-de-Ville, FR

Situated on the island of Ile St. Louis in Paris, this sprawling flat has overlooked the Seine for over 350 years. Massive oak beams and a cobble stone courtyard inspired the design: an interpretation of a Norman manor as a modern Parisian loft. An open kitchen in the front salon boasts a custom stone hearth with a fireplace alongside the range. Floor-to-ceiling windows open to river views and the Marais beyond.

An eclectic mix of antique and contemporary furnishings give a nod to the Paris 'brocantes,' or flea markets, while forsaking their clutter. It all flows together to create a visually consistent home.
