Jolanta Johnsson, experienced Polish artist, graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, PhD of fine arts, university teacher. She currently lives in Sweden. This is how she writes about the drawing:
A shelter is a sanctuary where we find solace and security, a refuge from the dangers and threats that may surround us. While the media inundates us with reports of armed conflicts and wars, there are also everyday challenges that we seek shelter from. Whether it be work-related stress, financial struggles, health issues, or feelings of insecurity and isolation, we all need a safe haven to turn to, shelter from the storm of life.
This shelter is often provided by another human being who offers us support, understanding, and comfort. It is a place where we can seek help, find a listening ear, and experience moments of closeness and care. As we nestle into this shelter, we feel its warmth and positive energy enveloping us, allowing us to leave our troubles at the door and focus on the present moment.
In this safe space, we can gather the courage to contemplate the future and gather strength for what lies ahead. It is a place where we can recharge and rejuvenate, ready to face whatever challenges may come our way.
In this drawing I want to show how important a shelter we are for each other.

Jolanta Johnsson
Jolanta Johnsson is a Polish painter, who was born in 1955. She studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts in the years 1984–89, in the graphic studios of professor Halina Chrostowska and professor Rafal Strent and the painting studio of professor Jerzy Tchorzewski. She gained a Ph.D. in visual arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in 2012. Currently, she runs a graphic arts and design workshop at the European Faculty of Arts at the Vistula Academy of Finance and Business. Her works have been exhibited at numerous exhibitions, including in the United States, Sweden, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Greece.
