Georgij Moroz
Georgij Moroz was born in Kamianske, Ukraine, in 1937. He expressed an early passion for drawing and began artistic studies in Kamianske in 1949 and later attended the School of Fine Arts in Kyiv. From 1956–62, Moroz attended the Academy of Fine Art of Saint Petersburg. While he was studying, he began his activity taking part in many exhibitions in Russia and abroad. In 1973, he became a member of the Union of the Artists. In 1980, he exhibited in Austria, Hungary and Japan while in 1990 a solo exhibition was organized in the USA (Bemidji). In the decade 1990-2000 several exhibitions that had great success were held in Italy and France. Other important exhibitions include the one organized to celebrate the 70 years of the Union of the Painters of Saint Petersburg in 2002 and in 2003 an exhibition was held in honor of the 300 years of the City of Saint Petersburg. In 2007, a personal exhibition was organized to celebrate his 70th birthday at Saint Petersburg. Works by Moroz are a part of a lot of private collections and museums such as The State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the USSR Artists Collection in Moscow, The Ministry of Culture Collection in Moscow, Russian State Museum in St. Petersburg, and more.
