About the Item

Questions about the nature and boundaries of reality are contextualized in this dreamy image of a woman strolling in a fantasy forest that breathes high-pitched color. Pioneering photo image maker Mitchell Funk conceived and executed this work 53 years ago; today it looks very contemporary. Funk used negative color for the forest, and then with a multiple exposure technique, he seamlessly sandwiched a walking female figure into the scene.
