Original vintage train travel poster - Visit Battle - featuring artwork by the notable commercial artist and poster designer Reginald Montague Lander (1913-1980) depicting people visiting the partially ruined historic Battle Abbey in Sussex built in 1094 on the site of the 1066 Battle of Hastings with a building, trees and hills on the side set over a blue background, the title above with the rest of the text and British Rail logo below - Awayday fare from this station - along with a description of the Abbey's establishment following the historic battle between William the Norman and King Harold II over 900 years ago, as well as the market town of Battle and its 12th-13th century buildings, easily reached by frequent trains from London and Hastings direct to Battle. Screen Printed by Planet Displays. Published by British Rail Southern Region. Very good condition, creasing, small tears, number printed on reverse.
