About the Item

Silver metal champagne bottle by Antonio Pujia Eccentric and striking silver metal champagne bottle with hand-sculpted handles representing angels, this being a beautiful piece in design as well as a true piece of art. Signed at the bottom. Measures: Height: 21.5 centimeters Diameter: 22 centimeters He received the title of national professor of sculpture at the Prilidiano Pueyrredón National School of Fine Arts and that of senior professor of sculpture at the Ernesto de la Cárcova Higher School of Fine Arts of the Nation. Antonio Pujia taught at the Pueyrredón, La Cárcova and Belgrano schools, and also at his own workshop-school for more than thirty years. In 1956, after winning a competition organized by Héctor Basaldúa, he organized the stage sculpture workshop at the Teatro Colón, of which he was head until 1970, the year in which he resigned from the position to dedicate himself fully to sculptural creation. In 1965 he held his first solo exhibition at the Witcomb Gallery. He was also the creator of the Podesta Awards, a statuette that is awarded annually to the career of actors who are members of the Argentine Association of Actors. Some of his works are on permanent display in different public places in Buenos Aires.
