Goldscheider Vienna Lady With Pekingese Sitting On A Suitcase, Dakon, Circa 1936

Rare and delicate Goldscheider Art Déco ceramic figurine of the 1930s: Elegant young lady with chin-length blond curls and elegant black hat, green long skirt and white and black checkered blouse, wearing a short-sleeved green vest and long black gloves, with her legs crossed and her left arm resting on her hip, her right forearm resting on her leg, sitting on a large black suitcase and looking straight ahead, next to her on the suitcase a standing Pekingese, under her legs a large blue hatbox. Without base, artist's signature 'Dakon' on the underside. Designed by Stephan DAKON (1904 - 1992), was one of the most important designers who worked for the Goldscheider manufactory from 1924 until the mid-fifties.
