Italian Gilt Wood Carved Mirror with Laurel Garland and Putto 1800s
About the Item
Italian Gilded Mirror With Putto in Baroque style but from the early 1800s with the square-shaped frame surmounted by the head of a winged putto framed by a rich garland of laurel leaves that also run down the sides of the frame. The decoration features a slight asymmetry that makes this period frame unique and original.
The interior light is 17.5 cm. x 15.8 cm. and is dressed in an antiqued mirror with a break in the upper left side. The frame has in the carving some small missing and old restorations consistent with early 1800s date, condition documented in photo gallery, Private collection. Northern Italy 1800.
