Mid 19th Century French Louis XVI Style Gold Gilt Mirror
About the Item
Mid 19th Century French Louis XVI Style Gold Gilt Mirror. Molded gold gilt frame with "chapeau gendarme" heading and topped with a classic cartouche of oak leaves and acorns, center decoration shield with foliate design; all reminiscent of earlier classic elements. Frame etched with floral and geometric design. Interior of frame further embellished with "string of pearls".
Wood blocks on the bottom of frame to protect while in store. Will be removed upon shipping.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Condition of this mirror is good, consistent with age and use. As is appropriate wear on the gilt of the frame uncovers the red bole used under 19th C. gold gilt to enhance the gold finish. No restoration evident.
