French 19th Century Solid Mahogany Buffet with Hutch
About the Item
An attractive and high quality French late 19th century solid mahogany buffet with the original hutch. The buffet is raised by four tapered toupie shaped carved supports below the mottled frieze with curved ends. Each of the four doors, with ormolu keyhole escutcheons, are decorated with richly carved flower buds and foliate design within a framed panel. Fluted columns with carved chandelles and top rosettes flank each door. The four drawers have ormolu handles and are separated by rosettes blocks. The Rosé vif desPyrenées marble top is below the hutch raised by two fluted columns with square plinths and "S' scrolled capitals. The scalloped back plate retains the original beveled mirrored plates. Above are two central glass paned doors separated by a vertical carved crossbar decorated by a bow supporting tied floral branches. At both sides are curved doors with the original hand blown glass, all with ormolu keyholes escutcheons, and an interior adjustable glass shelf. The central top crown is adorned by a sensational reserve of carved roses. All original patina.
