Arne Jacobsen "Shaker table"

About the Item

The Shaker Board (table) has a sleek image, possibly due to its steel legs. This center table, with a rectangular top and a Shaker base, was designed by Arne Jacobsen in collaboration with Poul Henningsen and Bruno Mathsson as part of a series of tables. The design gives the impression that the top is floating, creating a sharp visual impact. The height is just right for use with sofas or lounge chairs. It is speculated that the table was designed for the SAS Royal Hotel, along with the Egg Chair and the Swan Chair.
