Sheraton Period Rosewood Artist's Boneur Du Jour

About the Item

An unusual late 18th century Sheraton period rosewood artist's Bonheur du Jour boxwood and ebony strung and satinwood banded throughout, having brass galleried upper part above fold-over top revealing red leather writing surface and concealed lift-up painting easel. The piece, with 3 frieze drawers containing many original water color paints and crayons, above paper storage cupboard and concave platform, supported on satinwood panelled square tapering legs.
