About the Item
A truly fine example of the iconic Universal Genève Polerouter, this model is the 20217-5 version automatic bumper dating back to around 1955 by the serial number. Its been very well looked after and appears to be all original.
36mm stainless steel case the retains all of its original shape and sharpness. Crown appears to be the original.
The silvered dial has started to develop some natural pitting in places and has turned a slightly more brown / metallic silver colour giving a wonderful patina. Hands are original as is the dial.
Automatic Bumper movement this watch operates from the Caliber ref 138ss.
An excellent example of this watch and one worth of any collection. Having passed through our workshop its in excellent working order (+/- 8 seconds per day).
Fitted to an unsigned brown leather strap.
