Donald Sultan Born 1951 Fifteen Oranges, 17 September, 1992 Tar, oil, spackle on tile over masonite 96 x 96 inches Donald Sultan is an acclaimed American painter known for his large-scale paintings produced using a range of industrial and non-art materials, including tar, latex and rubber, and for his graphic and restrained investigations of form. Since his first solo exhibition in 1977, Sultan has exhibited his works internationally and they are now held in the permanent collections of over fifty major international museums.
