Gaetano Pesce wood and metal sculpture frame In very good condition, a very rare wooden metal sculpture by the Italian designer Gaetano Pesce (1939) for the manufacturer Cassina Italy, made from wooden slats and mounted in a varnished wooden frame with metal base. Signed "Gaetano Pesce" 1963 by Cassina 1968-1969 ". The design dates back to 1963 and we know that Cesare Cassina and Gaetano Pesce started working together at the beginning of the 60s and that at that time they experimented a lot with wood, paper, plate, rubber and fabric. Dimensions: Height 37 cm x Width 37 cm. Gaetano Pesce (born 8 November 1939) is an Italian architect and a design pioneer of the 20th century.[1] Mr. Pesce was born in La Spezia in 1939, and he grew up in Padua and Florence.[2] During his 50-year career, Mr. Pesce has worked as an architect, urban planner, and industrial designer.[3][4] His outlook is considered broad and humanistic, and his work is characterized by an inventive use of color and materials, asserting connections between the individual and society, through art, architecture, and design to reappraise mid-twentieth century modern life
