About the Item
Artist Comments
Inspired by some of Paul Klee's works, this piece starts with a straightforward view of an Irish house and reimagines it as a study in composition and texture. With the use of earth-toned underpainting, intersecting lines, and strategic placement of colors, the painting takes on an abstract application.
About the Artist
Artist Robert Hofherr paints fauvist expressions, infusing his work with a strong statement reflected in his bold application of colors and spontaneous brushwork. Robert refrains from depicting a scene in its literal sense and lets the viewer reimagine a piece with their imagination. Following art school, Robert spent decades as an advertising and graphic design professional. "After my children had grown and became independent, I reconnected with painting," shares Robert. Inspired by the French artists Maurice de Vlaminck and André Derain, he now paints in an unused bedroom in his home, often accompanied by the soothing melodies of classical music. When he is not working, Robert enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, and exploring the magnificent landscapes of the mid-Atlantic region.

- Landscapes of the Soul and of the Mind XIV , Abstract Expressionist LandscapeLocated in Doylestown, PA"Landscapes of the Soul and of the Mind XIV " is a 40 x 40 inches, original, abstract landscape by American master colorist painter Al Lachman. The artwork is a gallery wrapped canvas, signed "Lachman" in the lower left. It is part of the artist's series "Landscapes of the Soul and of the Mind". The artist puts his thumb upon the pulse of life and records it. In that mystical beat lies the unknown, and he would but make it known. Being both, innovator and spectator, he exists as an intrinsic part of that rhythm. Each painting begins with a premise, and I rarely use the same one twice. It is based on what I see and what I am feeling at that moment. I do not think that painting is about technique. It is about a particular perception of the world around us. The premise creates the periphery of my intent. It is a limitation that gives birth to the creative forces within. - Al Lachman Born in 1936 in the Bronx, NY, Alan Lachman...Category

- Landscapes of the Soul and of the Mind XIX , Abstract Expressionist LandscapeLocated in Doylestown, PA"Landscapes of the Soul and of the Mind XIX " is a 44 x 56 inches, original, abstract landscape by American master colorist painter Al Lachman. The artwork is a gallery wrapped canvas, signed "Lachman" in the lower center. I try to approach each painting with a minimum of predigested information. I look at the world with the natural curiosity of a child, always looking for unique qualities that each new moment brings. Talent, I believe, is found in the ability to take risks, and with that in mind, I am continually willing to risk it all every time I paint. The most exciting paintings, for me, are the ones that balance a bold fresh approach with the sensitive and subtle workings of the heart and mind. - Al Lachman Born in 1936 in the Bronx, NY, Alan Lachman...Category
