About the artist:
Charles J. Beauvais was born in Washington on October 28, 1917. He was a long-time resident of Laguna Beach. He died there on March 21. He was well know for his skill with the palate knife. He lived most of his life in Southern California along the beach, and painted in Laguna Beach. He was the artist who fashioned the famous statue of "The Greeter" which welcomes tourists to Laguna Beach. He lived in Newport Beach.
