Charles Greville Morris Art
Charles Greville Morris was a Manchester landscape painter who was born in Lancashire in 1861. Morris studied in Paris under M. M. Bollinger, Collin and Courtois. Morris exhibited from 1886–94 at the Royal Academy and elsewhere, wherein all of the works were landscapes. He lived in St. Ives, Cornwall after 1892. One of the artist’s paintings, titled “Marshland,” is in the City Art Gallery, Manchester. This scenic landscape looks like it was painted during the change of season, just as winter approaches. It is filled with quite muted colours, looking very neutral, filled with a dark green and brown tones to represent the bare countryside.
