Jennifer Bartlett Art

American, b. 1941
Jennifer Losch Bartlett (born March 14, 1941) is an American artist. She is known for paintings and prints that combine the system-based aesthetic of Conceptual art with the painterly approach of Neo-expressionism. Many of her pieces are executed on small, square, enamel-coated steel plates that are combined in grid formations to create very large works.

Here, in each work, the unflinching presence of time is carefully, conspicuously monitored by a clock - light gray for day, dark gray for night. But motifs, color combinations, even certain images variously recur throughout the 24 paintings, shaking us up, causing us to realize that even the most seemingly casual, intimate scenes (a child's bedroom, a bathroom, the garden fish...

Swiss artist Edith Konrad paints figurative abstract compositions with mixed media on canvas. She layers her expression of her emotional response to the subjects with dynamic textures and subtle patterns in her artworks. The thick layers of paint add a sculptural and tactile, rich looking feel to her paintings, along with the bodily presence of her subjects. Her works have been exhibited internationally, including Artspace Warehouse Los Angeles and many art fairs such as Montreux, Geneva, Salzburg, Rotterdam, Marbella, Los Angeles, Toronto and Paris. This original 34 inch high by 10 inch wide artwork is composed of oil and mixed media on canvas. The artist signed this abstract figurative painting on the front in the lower right corner. Convenient local Los Angeles area shipping. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping also available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Edith Konrad has studied in numerous master classes with artists from Germany and Italy. She paints in a variety of techniques and particularly prefers the use acrylic on canvas, collage and mixed media. In 2007 her art was acquired by the State Museum Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. She won the 2009 Palm Art Award, a Certificate of Excellence for outstanding artistic quality and originality of the work. In 2010 she exhibited at the Salon de la Culture at the Louvre in Paris, France. Black crayon and graphite with white heightening on blue handmade laid paper. Adhered at all four corners to a period support, on which the title and an illegible date (perhaps 1815) appear to be written in the artist's hand. ________ Aglio was born in Cremona is 1777 and his artistic talent was recognized early in his life. He was promised a place at the University in Milan by the Holy Roman Emperor, however, his formal education was upended before it even began by the invasion of Italy and Austria by Napoleon. Aglio joined the war effort and fought in a series of major battles near Venice before becoming seriously ill. At the age of about 23 he was released from duty, and traveled to Rome to focus on his health, and landscape painting. In Rome, Aglio studied with the renowned artist Campovecchio. At the invitation of well known British architect William Wilkins (designer of the National Gallery and University College London), Aglio relocated to London in 1803. He made London his permanent home, and married Letitia Clarke in 1805. He enjoyed a lucrative career painting frescoes in the interiors of high society townhouses, country manors, and major London concert halls and theaters. Most notably, Aglio painted multiple official portraits of Queen Victoria...
