Kathy Whaley Ammon Art
Kathy Whaley Ammon is from North Carolina. She received her BA in painting from the University of South Carolina and the University of Texas at Dallas. From 1985–88, Ammon studied painting with Frits van Eeden, a renowned artist and member of the Pulchri Arts Society of The Hague, Netherlands. During that time while residing in Florida, Ammon was an art instructor with Creative Arts for Kids, a program she developed for private schools and child care organizations. She closed this business in 1988 in order to focus full time on her art. She moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 1994 and was juried into Artspace in 1997, where she currently has her studio. Her studio is open to the public and located in the heart of Raleigh, North Carolina at Artspace, a visual art center of artist studios and galleries. Kathy resides outside of Raleigh in the small town of Apex, North Carolina with her husband and family. Her work is also a part of many private and corporate collections.
