1940s Du Barry Raspberry Sequin Shirtwaister Dress
About the Item
This 1940s Du Barry shirt waister dress is in the most delightful shade of raspberry pink, with matching pink sequin clover leaf detail. It has gathered shoulders with lightweight original padding to the interior to create a tailored silhouette. The V neckline fastens with three popper fasteners and features a gathered bust, which enhances the garment's shape. The waist can be tied with a matching belt, and the skirt itself flows beautifully down to the knee and is slightly longer at the back in typical 1940s fashion. The fabric is a lovely lightweight crepe, perfect for summer months or dancing attire!
The dress is in lovely antique condition with no faults of any note, an increasingly rare thing for a dress over 80 years old. It's a great size and would fit up to a UK 10-12 or US 6-8.
