This stunning Tibetan telescopic horn or dungchen is from the late Qing Dynasty. The body is a warm brown that is smooth and adorned with chased and repoussé silvered metal details. It stands 15 inches when collapsed and 35.75 inches when extended. it measures 1.5 inches in diameter at the mouthpiece and 5" at the flared end. Each piece is expertly molded to fit into the next making it easy to secure in place when extending and release when collapsing, making it easy to travel with. Note the two rings at the flared end that are used for attaching a cord for carrying.

Elegant and beautiful Dressing Table or it could be suitable for a jewellery box , Meiji Period ( 1868 - 1912 ).
Executed with black lacquer, holding a bronze hand mirror ( ekagami)
Configured with five smooth-running drawers of different Size. Two are equipped with slender "hirute"-shaped bail handles and three with decorative pull-rings.
The front-and backside featuring oval grips for easy transport.
Surmounted by a mirror frame in a shape reminiscent of a Shintô shrine torii-gate-
a twin-posted framework with a triangular crossbar flared in upswept Chinese-style gable ( Karahafu) endings.
Resting of the frame is the Japanese traditional handheld mirror with auspicious embossed design of wisteria ( fuji) and lovely patina.

Considering its age the set is in a very good condition with some traces of usage and wear conform age.

Very large and powerful Tibetan fierce deity. Stands an impressive 18 inches tall, 19 inches on a custom stand. I believe this piece may have once looked very different and may have gone through a fire or other disaster (likely as part of the cultural revolution in the 1960s). I think it may have been extensively repaired using copper from other damaged sculptures. I say this because the body is so massive and thick, and almost seems to have extra mass beyond what a normal torso with 2 arms and 2 legs, and a head would have contained. It is possible it was originally made this way as a one-of-a-kind piece. I do believe all parts except the bottom are 18/19thC (and probably 18thC). Amazing face on the animal in his hair.
