About the Item
An antique Japanese, Meiji period, enamel tray. The octagonal shaped tray is enameled with a polychrome image of a wagon with blossoming Wisteria and other flowers surrounded by a swirl motif on the green ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The borders are adorned with polychrome enamel foliage, floral, geometrical, and spiked patterns made in the same technique. The backside are decorated with polychrome enamel floral, cloud, star, toothed, and geometrical ornaments made in the Cloisonne technique. Unmarked. Circa: 19th century. OVERALL GOOD VINTAGE CONDITION. SIGNS OF AGE AND WEAR. THERE IS SOME DAMAGE ON THE CLOISONNÉ. REFER TO PHOTOS.
