Antique Japanese Cloisonne Enamel Carp Fish Dragon Gate Plate
About the Item
An antique Japanese late Meiji era decorative enamel over copper plate or charger. The interior of the plate is adorned with a polychrome design of fish and a sea dragon in a seascape on the blue ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The borders are decorated with floral, and foliage ornaments made in the same technique. The backside is decorated with a foliate scroll ornament made in the Cloisonne technique. Unmarked.
