Antique Japanese Cloisonne Flying Geese Enamel Plate Goto School

About the Item

An antique Japanese late Meiji era decorative enamel over copper plate or charger. The interior of the plate is adorned with a polychrome design of flying geese surrounded by floral rondels and images of butterflies on the olive green ground on the borders made in the Cloisonne technique. The backside is decorated with a foliate scroll ornament made in the Cloisonne technique. Unmarked. Circa: the late 19th century.
