About the Item
Circa 1890 pair of Imari vases, Japanese. Bulbous form. A true facing pair. Each with large opposing central medallions featuring a man with a fan with assistant behind with his sheathed sword and seated lady in long robe beside the water under a village scene. The rest very well decorated with colorful, bold herons & birds among flowers & foliage. Marked on the bottom. One previously broken and expertly restored. 11 7/8" h., 7.5" dia.
