19th Century French Rustic Primitive Butcher Block

About the Item

Original rustic French provincial chopping block from the 1st half of the 19th century. Rudimentarily made, consisting of a solid elm wood stump with 3 embedded original shaped legs. Old white colour finish. An extremely decorative authentic French country house piece and the ideal addition to any country house kitchen or as a side table in an eclectic or wabi sabi influenced interior. Dimensions Height: 67.5 cm / 26.57 inch. Diameter: 57 cm / 22.44 inch (+ protruding feet). Ready to use (surface sanded without destroying the original patina and resealed for a smooth and clean surface). Old traces of woodworm on the legs (not active!). Robust, stable, heavy!
