Art Deco Ditmar Urbach Pitcher Czechoslovakia Flame Decor 1920-1938

About the Item

Art Deco pitcher with abstract flame design in hues of red, purple and yellow was made by Ditmar-Urbach Porcelain Factory. Urbach pottery was founded in 1882 in Turn-Teplitz, Bohemia (now Trnovany, Czech Republic) in 1882. It merged with Rudolf Ditmar’s factory in Znaim, Czechoslovakia, in 1919 and became Ditmar-Urbach. The pitcher is marked with Ditmar-Urbach Made in Czechoslovakia mark that was used in 1920-1938; since 1938 the wording on the mark was changed to Ditmar-Urbach Made in Germany. The pitcher stands 7.6" tall; it is in good vintage condition with minor glaze crackling and one small area of glaze loss that is age appropriate and is reflected in the pictures.
