Enamelled sterling silver heart shaped trinket box

About the Item

This lovely sterling silver heart shaped trinket, or pill box, has been decorated with a hand painted scene of a wicker basket full of flowers with a butterfly resting on one of the blooms. The painting has been signed AH. It measures 66 mm (2 5/8ths inches) in length, 66 mm (2 5/8ths inches) in width and stands 14 mm (just over 1/2 an inch) high. It carries the British import marks for London in 1973 which show that it was made elsewhere, probably in Europe, and imported into the UK, where it was tested as sterling silver. The H&A stamp would be the mark of the importers. There are some very faint scratches to the enamel, but overall it is in very good condition.
