Rare Raymond Loewy for Mengel Six Drawer Dresser In White Oak

About the Item

Raymond Loewy (French 1893-1986) was a prolific designer of everything from Studebaker cars and the interior of J.F.K.’s Airforce One airplane to the Lucky Strike circular logo to Frigidaire refrigerators and futuristic furniture designs for Doubinsky Frères and beautiful form and functionally designed furniture for Mengel Furniture Company. This is a, beautiful and rarely seen, six drawer dresser cased in cerused white oak with combed and cerused gray lacquered oak drawer fronts for Mengel Furniture Co.. Satin black enameled trapezoid rectangular iron pulls with satin black angled wrought iron legs with flat circular feet. All these seemingly dissimilar components all come together to create an amazing piece.
