MCM Paul McCobb Irwin Collection Calvin Credenza Sideboard Leather Brass Walnut
By Calvin Furniture, Paul McCobb
Located in Portland, OR
An original Mid-Century Modern credenza / wall unit model # C8506, designed by Paul Mc Cobb "The Irwin Collection" for Calvin Furniture, 1952. Condition is excellent!
A very rare twin section walnut brass & leather cabinet designed by Paul Mc Cobb, the top having brass dividers/supports with two moveable modular units one with four drawers the other with twin cupboard doors. This model is very rare, possibly a commission piece with leather fronts to the doors, most of the C8506 models had plain wood or doors with caning. The cabinet is also fitted with two original smoked glass shelves, the cabinet is fitted with a brass tag to one of the drawers "Calvin Grand Rapids The Irwin Collection designed by Paul Mc Cobb".
The base with corresponding brass legs to the front & rear, the cabinet with four 'concertina' doors fitted with the original Oxblood color leather and enclosing a fitted interior. Condition is very good indeed, the cabinet having been recently professionally restored in Bloomsbury's workshop. Provenance, the cabinet belonged to a prominent local architect and was acquired from new.

Modern Walnut and Koa Credenza with Sculptural Legs by Thomas Throop - In Stock
By Black Creek Designs LLC
Located in New Canaan, CT
The Laguna credenza is a study in contrast and form. The rectilinear cabinet balances elegantly on six energetic legs full of movement. The six doors feature the prominent rift sawn grain of rare iridescent Hawaiian koa which is framed by the solid walnut case. The base is comprised of six sculptural hand shaped legs which are joined to create two pedestals which supports the cabinet above. The legs have been ebonized to visually ground the piece and heighten the overall sense of contrast and richness of the walnut and koa. Each door handle is a custom shaped piece of three thousand year old bog oak. The credenza is comprised of three compartments with adjustable shelves. Each element is shaped, joined and finished so as to create a united design.
The Laguna credenza is designed and made at the Black Creek Designs studio in New Canaan, CT by Thomas Throop...

Brasilia by Broyhill Premiere label located inside of top drawer. We have the matching low dresser with mirror, nightstands and headboard - contact us or see our other listings for details.
Originally designed in the 1960s based on the emerging modern designs coming from the capital city of Brazil, Brasilia. Much of the public spaces were designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer such as the Palácio do Planalto which this credenza shares many design similarities with.
Perfect for the Mid-Century Modern collector or the interior designer looking for the perfect piece to make a room look complete and finished.
