Lost in the Clouds by Jim Seitz, Square Tree Painting with Gold Leaf
By Jim Seitz
Located in Atlanta, GA
'Lost in the Clouds' is a large acrylic and gold leaf on canvas landscape painting of square format created by American artist Jim Seitz in 2023. Featuring a gold, grey, white and blue palette, the painting gives great importance to the white tree. The lower part of the composition is occupied by the golden presence of the ground, accented by a luminous tree that leads our eye to the middle of the painting. Unframed, this horizontal landscape painting is signed lower right.
Jim Seitz was born in Chicago and currently resides in Louisiana. He grew up in Texas and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He began showing talent and love for art as a young child, becoming more serious during his college years. During the time he worked for the university, providing medical illustrations for the Science Department,
He has traveled extensively throughout his life, living for several years in the Middle East, before moving to South East Asia. His travel experiences have included everything from cave explorations in the mountains of Iran to working in the jungles of New Guinea and Borneo. His preferred medium during that time was ink and watercolor, as it was easy to transport to and from remote locations.
While influenced by various 19th century landscape artists, Jim has developed a unique technique characterized by tonal, minimalist representation of his subject matter. Through this approach, less becomes more. His appreciation for color and his creative perspective lend to pieces that are traditional, moving to abstract. His utilization of gold leaf applied over heavy textured canvas and then glazed with multiple layers of acrylics provides an effect that is quickly becoming this artist’s signature style.

Pandemic 19 - landscape painting, minimalist painting
By Olga Szczechowska
Located in New York, NY
This beautiful landscape painting by Olga is part of her Pandemic series she did during the Covid 19 pandemic.
As oppose to the chaos the world is experiencing due to the pandemic, her landscape paintings are the opposite; calm, almost surreal and utopic.
Olga is mostly engaged in painting and illustration. She likes breaking the rules of proper reflecting of nature with the use of unexpected elements from another universe. Her works are minimalistic in the form, simply elegant and gracefully colorful.

Hans-Jürgen Kleinhammes ( November 16, 1937 in Augsburg – August 2008 there) was a German painter and graphic artist.
He studied from 1959 to 1961 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden, from 1961 to 1965 at the State University of Fine Arts in Hamburg with Thiemann, Mavignier and Wunderlich. In 1966 he went to Paris for a year on a grant (“ Cité Internationale des Arts ”).
From the mid-1960s he developed his visual language, which was reduced to landscape fragments and signet-like abstraction. (“the representation is strongly objectified, but does not lack a surreal-poetic quality...”). He saw Caspar David Friedrich , René Magritte and Giogio de Chirico as his role models . From 1964 he titled his pictures with the term “New Landscape”, which he determined. At the same time, Werner Nöfer and Jens Lausen were working on a similar artistic program. In 1968 he was a co-founder of the CO-OP artists' cooperative Hamburg , which wanted to switch off the art market with several graphic portfolio editions (members included Bruno Bruni , Dizi, Klaus Geldmacher , Dieter Glasmacher , Ullrich Hohenhaus, Tomislav Laux, Ernst Mitzka, Werner Nöfer, Sigmar Polke , Anna Oppermann...

(Geometric Abstraction, Minimalism, Constructivism)
Max Bill (22 December 1908 – 9 December 1994) was a Swiss architect, artist, painter, typeface designer, industrial designer and graphic designer.
Bill is widely considered the single most decisive influence on Swiss graphic design beginning in the 1950s with his theoretical writing and progressive work.[3] His connection to the days of the Modern Movement gave him special authority. As an industrial designer, his work is characterized by a clarity of design and precise proportions.[4] Examples are the elegant clocks and watches designed for Junghans, a long-term client. Among Bill's most notable product designs is the "Ulmer Hocker...
