Marzia Trinca Art

Italian, b. 1962

Marzia Trinca was born in Rome on 2nd January 1962, a city where she has always lived. She graduated in Architecture at La Sapienza University in Rome with a thesis entitled Assetto del Paesaggio. In the same years in which she studied at the university, Trinca became interested in botany since she loved plants and flowers since she was a child. For more than 10 years she is a member of the Giardino Romano Association, which allows her to deepen and expand the recognition of plant species thanks to numerous botanical trips to Italy and abroad. During these trips, Trinca has the opportunity to visit numerous and exclusive private and non-private gardens. Her interest in plants and flowers also transferred her to the professional field, devoting herself to the design of the green of terraces and gardens and for the interiors, to the design and manufacture of fabric artifacts. In 2002, she was forced to abandon her professional activity because Trinca was struck by Parkinson's disease, which severely penalized her on the motor level and caused her to shiver located on the left side of the body. This is an important detail, being left-handed. However, she continues to consult texts relating to the plant world. In this way, Trinca began to paint different oils on canvas, where the protagonist is represented by the flower that at that moment strongly inspires her.

Urbex is the English acronym for urban exploration and is an activity that consists of searching for and locating abandoned infrastructure with the goal of visiting, photographing and conveying its contents, with particular involvement of methodologies from geography, anthropology, sociology to cultural studies. Her works have been in the past approached to the works of Anselm Kiefer (b. 1945) and Giovanni Battista Piranesi (1720-1770), but in Gullotta's paintings the absence of color makes the spaces particularly ethereal, allowing them to be ideally lifted to new places and to new life. An artist of international caliber who has decided to entrust her return to her homeland to Almach Art Gallery in Milan, while maintaining connections with important galleries, such as Marlborough Fine Art in London and Galerie Koch in Hanover. The artwork represents the famous Velasca Tower in Milan. This artwork was exhibited during the Daniela Gullotta...
