Viet Ha Tran
Multidisciplinary artist Viet Ha Tran is known internationally for her beautiful and timeless photography and abstract paintings that convey rich, emotional depth and bring the viewer into a dreamlike reality.
Born in Hanoi, Vietnam, in 1981, Tran studied at Vietnam National University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Anglo-Saxon and American languages and cultures. She then attended Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan where she received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Later, she earned a master’s degree in marketing management at IE Business School in Madrid, Spain.
For 15 years, Tran worked in banking, finance education, business development, marketing intelligence and government relations in Japan, Vietnam, Singapore and Spain. Then, in 2013, she shifted her attention to fine art photography; in 2018, she began an abstract painting practice.
Tran’s ethereal color and black and white photography, particularly of women and landscapes, capture an air of classic paintings that critics have likened to Caravaggio and James Tissot. Her abstract paintings, such as the densely floral mixed media Romantic Garden and swirling blue acrylic Memories of Rhode Island, have captured worldwide acclaim. In 2020, the French fashion house Louis Vuitton commissioned Tran to create an abstract painting for the inauguration of a new store.
Tran’s works have appeared in auctions in Spain alongside pieces by iconic artists Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, Andy Warhol and Banksy. Her photographs and paintings have been featured in publications around the world, including Vogue Italia, The Times of India, Vanity Fair France, Việt Nam News, The Hindu and El Economista.
Tran has participated in solo exhibitions throughout Spain, where she is based, and numerous international group exhibitions, including at Arte in Salotto in Milan, NowHere in New York, and the Barnard Gallery in Cape Town, South Africa. She is a member of the Royal Photographic Society of Spain.

(framed) Please note: Our framing studio could not accommodate the scale of this work, so it is being sold as-acquired. Provenance Steve Chase Design, Palm Springs, CA Ronnie Landfield was born in the Bronx, NY on January 9, 1947 - the same day as his older brother. As a teenager, he was encouraged to pursue a career as an artist, subsequently creating his first real paintings around the age of 14. He was particularly influenced by a Life magazine article from 1961 on the Abstract Expressionists, most notably: Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Adolph Gottlieb, Hans Hofmann, Mark Rothko, Clyfford Still, Robert Motherwell and Franz Kline. After stints at the Art Students League, the Kansas City Art Institute, the San Francisco Art Institute, and the University of California at Berkeley, Landfield’s professional career as a painter began in New York in 1965. The following year, after completing a major series of hard-edge border paintings, success as a painter began to materialize. The famous architect and collector Philip Johnson and the collector Robert Scull each acquired large paintings works, as did the Sheldon Memorial Museum in Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1967, Landfield was invited to participate in the Whitney Annual at the end of the year. His work attracted considerable attention, and he was invited to participate in important group exhibitions at the Bykert, Bianchini, and Park Place Galleries in New York. Landfield joined the David Whitney...Category
