A French oil on canvas painting of Holiday preparations, toys and other delights of Christmas. The painting is signed bottom left (as yet undeciphered).
A very charming painting of a beautiful doll surrounded by all the delights of a very Happy Christmas. She has her hand on a toy puppy, dressed in her party finest, baubles from the tree glisten in the light, an angel decoration is laying behind her, all the objects are resting on sheets of Christmas wrapping paper ready to be used. The artist has caught all the excitement of the preparations for Christmas.
Bright vivid colours and a lovely texture to the surface of the canvas make this a painting that will delight at any time of the year but serve as a reminder to those happy days we have all spent at holiday times.
