Nocturne in Egypt is an original contemprary artwork realized by Robert Naly in the middle of the XX Century.
Original etching on ivory paper.
Hand-signed in pencil by the artist on the lower right corner: R.Naly. A written in pencil appears on the left corner too.
Excellent conditions.
Misterious etching depicting the profile of the sphinx and a pyramid on the horizon. The background is completely realized with black. On the upper part we can see the circle of the full moon that indicates us that it is a nocturnal scene: a nocturnal scene in Egypt between sphinxes and pyramids.
Robert Naly (Geneva, 1900 - 1983). Passionate about painting, Naly left Switzerland at the age of twenty to Paris. He lived for seven years in Montparnasse, attending Soutine as well as Kisling. His favorite subjects are among the others sights of Paris and marine life.

Robert Naly
Robert Naly was a Swiss artist who worked in France as a landscape painter, decorator and illustrator. In 1927, he moved to Montmartre in Paris to work as a decorator. In 1932, he exhibited in Paris at the Salon d'Automne. Naly died in 1984 in his atelier due to a fire.
