Claude Harrison Art

British, 1922-2009

Claude Harrison studied at Preston College of Art, 1939–41 and Liverpool College of Art, 1941–42, after which he enlisted in the Royal Air Force for five years. On his return, he continued studies at Royal College of Art, 1947–50. Harrison’s work consisted of murals, portraits, conversation pieces and mystical figure compositions, which are seen in the Westmoreland poster. He was a member of the Royal Academy, and his work has regularly been exhibited in the annual summer exhibition.
