Large Minton Majolica Cupids Jardiniere And Stand

About the Item

Minton Majolica jardinière and stand which features cupids in flight in various poses, around the central band. Ribbons above, oak leaves and acorns below. Colouration: cobalt blue, lavender blue, green, are predominant. The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, '923'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1870.

    Stand: Good. Some wear to the inner border, from use. RESTORATION. Two stabilised and retouched hairlines to the rim. Filled chips to the rim. Jardiniere: Good. A couple of stains to one of the cupid's legs. Tight, stable hairline to underside.
