Fratelli Toso Murano vase "Kiku"

About the Item

The Murrine for these vessels were designed by Ermanno and Renato Toso and Poli Peralda prior to 1964. The successful series was in production for many decades to come. Nowadays even the most recent examples produced by Fratelli Toso on Fondamenta Colleoni should be at least forty years old and collectors are getting interested in these beautiful objects again. This is a great example of the Toso brothers finest craftsmanship. A composition of beautiful murrine fused, rolled up and blown to it's final shape. Transparency and opacity of the murrine compositions allow the light to play some tricks to your eyes. The vase is still bearing the old label. For further information on these vessels please consult the book by Marc Heiremans and Caterina Toso, "Fratelli Toso" Murano, Stuttgart 2018, p. 122-24.
