A Rare Pair of 19th Century Bronze Barrelled Signal Cannons on Timber Base

About the Item

A very rare pair of 19th Century finely cast bronze barrelled signal cannons of exceptional quality with fabulous detail and rich patination. This very fine pair of cannons have flared muzzles, tapering barrels with the top of each breech surmounted with twin handles with foliate motifs, engraved in relief to the barrels with a decorative family crest of arms and have further stunning foliate motif detail throughout. Supported on a finely hand carved well figured timber carriage base with scroll detail and twin eight spoked wheels.
