Maestro (walnut wood bird abstract art zen sculpture pedestal minimal)
By Eric Tardif
Located in Quebec, Quebec
This steam-bent wooden sculpture is made of walnut with a granite base. The wood grain and the color are uniqueness of this sculpture. The wood has magnificent stripe patterns of paler and darker colors. One of them is to stay positive and keep hope.
In some cultures, a heron symbolizes contemplation, vigilance, divine wisdom, and inner quietness. As a Chinese symbol, a heron represents strength, purity, patience and long life. In Africa, herons were thought to communicate with the Gods. The elegance and purity of the lines are reminiscent of Native American art from Western Canada. The elegance and purity of the lines are reminiscent of Native American art from Western Canada including that of Benjamin Chee...

"Construction 1982" Abstract Wall Sculpture Contemporary Mid 20th Century Modern
By Seymour Fogel
Located in New York, NY
"Construction 1982" Abstract Wall Sculpture Contemporary Mid 20th Century Modern
Painted wood assemblage, 36 x 45 x 4 inches overall. Note the label states 3 foot diameter referring to circular portion. Exhibited, Seymour Fogel Constructions Paintings and Drawing, 1984, typed on Graham Modern label verso
Seymour Fogel was born in New York City on August 24, 1911. He studied at the Art Students League and at the National Academy of Design under George Bridgeman and Leon Kroll. When his formal studies were concluded in the early 1930s he served as an assistant to Diego Rivera who was then at work on his controversial Rockefeller Center mural. It was from Rivera that he learned the art of mural painting.
Fogel was awarded several mural commissions during the 1930s by both the Works Progress Administration (WPA) and the Treasury Section of Fine Arts, among them his earliest murals at the Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, New York in 1936, a mural in the WPA Building at the 1939-1940 New York World's Fair, a highly controversial mural at the U.S. Post Office in Safford, Arizona (due to his focus on Apache culture) in 1941 and two murals in what was then the Social Security Building in Washington, D.C., also in 1941. Fogel's artistic circle at this time included Phillip Guston, Ben Shahn, Franz Kline, Rockwell Kent and Willem de Kooning.
In 1946 Fogel accepted a teaching position at the University of Texas at Austin and became one of the founding artists of the Texas Modernist Movement. At this time he began to devote himself solely to abstract, non-representational art and executed what many consider to be the very first abstract mural in the State of Texas at the American National Bank in Austin in 1953. He pioneered the use of Ethyl Silicate as a mural medium. Other murals and public works of art done during this time (the late 1940s and 1950s) include the Baptist Student Center at the University of Texas (1949), the Petroleum Club in Houston (1951) and the First Christian Church, also in Houston (1956), whose innovative use of stained glass panels incorporated into the mural won Fogel a Silver Medal from the Architectural League of New York in 1958.
Fogel relocated to the Connecticut-New York area in 1959. He continued the Abstract Expressionism he had begun exploring in Texas, and began experimenting with various texturing media for his paintings, the most enduring of which was sand. In 1966 he was awarded a mural at the U.S. Federal Building in Fort Worth, Texas. The work, entitled "The Challenge of Space", was a milestone in his artistic career and ushered in what has been termed the Transcendental/Atavistic period of his art, a style he pursued up to his death in 1984. Painted and raw wood sculpture...

GS06, Geometric Abstract Multicolor 3D Mixed Media Wall Sculpture
By Zach Touchon
Located in Beverly Hills, CA
This artwork is part of a series called "Geometric Sculpture" and is a unique 3D sculpture that features a variety of vibrant colors including yellow, orange, red, blue, dark blue, and black. The sculpture is abstract in nature and showcases geometric shapes that add actual depth and space to the piece, making it visually striking and aesthetically pleasing to the viewer.
Zach Touchon has expressed a desire to step outside the traditional format and focus on movement and 3D effects. As a result, the sculpture creates shadows that further enhance the 3D effect, making the piece truly dynamic and engaging. Touchon has also mentioned his goal to create even larger pieces in the future, pushing the boundaries of the series and the medium itself.
Overall, this artwork is a visually stunning and unique addition to the "Geometric Sculpture" series, showcasing the artist's dedication to creating pieces that challenge traditional art forms and create a sense of depth and movement.
--
Zach Touchon is a contemporary LA-based abstract expressionist artist. Besides that, Touchon is also an actor, a singer, a screenwriter, and an owner of the Touchon Gallery.
Zach Touchon is a second-generation and a successor to his famous father's, Cecil Touchon's, artistic path.
By rethinking abstract expressionism ideas, using different media he creates large abstract artwork along with small collages, huge murals, and interior installations. The main focus of his art is depth and space and finding a semantic and aesthetic balance between them.
As a muralist, Touchon joins the ranks of such great LA street artists as WRDSMTH, Retna, Shepard Fairy, and Dirt Cobain...

Glen Michaels "Winter Wind", Pentaptych Mosaic Stone
Located in Detroit, MI
SALE ONE WEEK ONLY
This American Modern mosaic abstract sculpture has an extraordinary flow and liquid movement that belies its creation in stone. Its color is in keeping with the title, Winter Wind, a cold gray with sparks of orange and golden sepia.
Michaels passed away in 2020 and was remembered by Cranbrook Art Museum: “Michaels is featured in the upcoming book, With Eyes Opened: Cranbrook Academy of Art Since 1932 (available in 2021) and will have work featured in the accompanying exhibition opening at Cranbrook Art Museum in June 2021. Below is an excerpt from the book, written by Eva Caston.
“Glen Michaels was initially inclined towards a career in music. He played piano for vaudeville shows and won a scholarship to the Yale School of Music in 1950. There he drew caricatures for the school newspaper, painted portraits, and published a book of cartoons entitled Oh, You’re a Musician, which caught the attention of New Yorker cartoonists Mary Petty and Alan Dunn. He went on to receive his BA in arts education from Eastern Washington University in 1957. His teachers at Eastern Washington, Opal Fleckenstein and Frank...
