Signed lower right "P. Saint Martin"
Collector's stamp lower right "I.S."
Pau de Saint-Martin studied with Leprince and Vernet. He exhibited between 1800 and 1802 (View taken in the park of Saint Cloud, around Varennes, An interior of a stable, View of the town of Falaise at sunset with figures , View of rocks and waterfall in the vicinity of Falaise near the tomb of Mlle. Joli, View of garden). In 1804, he exhibited a Landscape taken around Caen with figures and animals and he also exhibited landscapes in 1806, 1812 and 1814. Then in 1810, a View of the port of Rouen, Landscapes and waterfalls as well as a Landscape and animals. And in 1817, he exhibited a View of the surroundings of St. Fargeau in Burgundy and in 1819, a View of the Château de Falaise, where William the Conqueror was born and a Landscape and Animals at Rest.
