Magdalena Morey
Hand Painted Vase-original abstract floral painting-contemporary still life art

2023

About the Item

Magdalena Morey's "Hand Painted Vase" is a refreshing exploration of abstract expressionism applied to a figurative study, resulting in a delightful composition. The painting captures the simple pleasure of enjoying sunlit blooms in a hand-painted vase during the morning light, portraying a serene and emotionally resonant scene. Gestural mark-making, employed with a sense of expressiveness, accentuates the emotions evoked by the subject. The stunning palette of rich blue and green tones, combined with warm hues, not only adds luminosity to the study but also contributes to the overall visual harmony of the artwork. This contemporary piece is a mixed media masterpiece, skillfully executed in acrylics, pastels, and adorned with the captivating touch of gold leaf. Hand-signed by the artist, "Hand Painted Vase" is not just a painting; it is an invitation to appreciate the simple yet profound beauty found in everyday moments. Ready to be displayed, this artwork is a testament to Magdalena Morey's ability to infuse depth and emotion into her creations. Artist biography: Magdalena Morey is a mixed media artist with a Diploma in Textiles and a Masters Degree in Painting from Marie Curie Sklodowska University, Poland. Whilst Magdalena experiments with many subjects, she has a strong affinity to nature and ecology which can be clearly seen in her abstract landscapes. She also loves painting the feminine form and whilst her figurative pieces are not direct self-portraits, there is always some aspect of her own internal state of being that is represented. She worked as a professional artist for a studio in Lublin for 10 years, before moving to Cambridge, England, where she had numerous exhibitions in local venues. In 2009 she moved to Switzerland where she continued to develop her style and portfolio for 6 years. She now lives with her family near Madrid, Spain. “I have always been fascinated by mixed media techniques and experimenting with various materials and subject matter. My passion for art stems from a love of experimenting and exploring the languages of colour and texture. I love the challenge of picking a subject and then expressing myself using these languages. My preferred tools are the spatula and brush. I enjoy using acrylics as their quick drying nature allows me to quickly build up texture and to be spontaneous about applying changes. As a mixed media artist, watercolour and pastel techniques are also regularly included in my work. Gold leaf is an important part of many of my artworks; it developed from a desire to find ways of representing the impact of the sun on the Spanish scenery”
